Very dated, both musically and racially, but in kind of an endearing, amusing way. Paul Robeson's two songs steal the show. I did feel the film lost its flow with about 40 minutes to go, when the couple left the boat and all of a sudden the story lost its setting and turned into a series of time jumps.
