For a first go at Superman, I think it was pretty good. All the right elements were there.

It's lame, but so is the concept of Superman. A man with unlimited strength and flying ability; where are the stakes? The paper thin origin story has nothing to relate to and Superman is a static, boring character whose humanity is but an act in the story itself.
