Felt a bit like Woody Allen but without the laughs; never felt any real sympathy or resonance with any of the characters...individual bits (as a male) certainly, but in the entirety none of them felt like fully developed humans.
Disappointing ultimately.

Clever, but also trite and lacking in subtlety. After an hour of improbable conversation harping on the same, single note, things get rather tedious. I also noticed an undercurrent of mild racism. Arcand may be critiquing a society that has regressed into shallow hedonism, but the film is too celebratory to be convincing. Nothing happens, everybody is smug and self-satisfied, and nobody shuts up. Final verdict: wankery. A waste of intellectualism--which is, perhaps, the whole point, but doesn't make it a better film.

Talk, talk, talk. By the end, it just becomes boring.
