Japanese film about people making films of special moments they want to bring to the after life with them. Slow and quiet, this is a very special experience that borders on the documentary at times.

Great premise, performances and ideas woven into it. Unfortunately I felt the second hour really failed to build on the first. It got a little sidetracked and the characters we had got to know disappeared without any kind of pay-off. I still enjoyed it and found it powerful, but I don't think it fully realised its potential. I absolutely love Maborosi, Kore-eda's film prior to this one.
