Saw this in Cambridge MA in the 1950s -- there were a lot of French films dealing with issues of justice at the time.

where one see this?

Very good justice film, for me one of the best, the end is very provocative but in some way common sense, maybe it was influenced by the existential philosophy that was very popular after the war.
