Thanks to gorgeus set designs and visual effects, the Star Wars universe really comes to life in this space opera, and the drama has never been more stiring. The characters are more fleshed out, the tone is darker and there is generally more going on in this excellent sequel that does not care about setting things up or closing things down but serves up a rollercoaster ride of an adventure flick from start to finish.

The best Star Wars movie.......still holds up after 40years

The only one of the three original Star Wars films that I feel has some weight to it. Easily the best of the entire series.
