I totally agree with "aneic". I found this film to be both heartbreaking and uplifting.

Sentimental and propagandistic, in only the best ways. Wonderful story, and I think due to watching this I am 30% more British.

felt a tad bit propaganda-ish but looking at the year i guess it makes sense. at times also very episodic and disjointed.
it did also possess some heartfelt moments like the rose cup (rigged AF) and the car scene near the end
