This is the best one from the Indiana Jones movies.

Raiders was good, but this is easily my favorite of the series.

Most third movies made in a trilogy suffer from losing the magic that was created from the beginning of the series. Last Crusade is a different flavor of Indiana Jones, it isn't quite as serious as Raiders and certainly not as dark as Doom. Sean Connery elevates the film to the next level and Indy getting upstaged by his father explored new aspects of the character. For the first time in this series, there was a danger of a seasoned, legendary star potentially upstaging the main character and yet the plot and script are so well crafted that they both complement and elevate both actors. Not an easy feat by any means, but it turned out amazing.

Overall the film knows exactly what it wants and needs to be, a good amount of action, a peek into the life of Jones through the inclusion of his father, and the perfect literal ride into the sunset. It almost makes making a fourth and fifth movie a travesty really.
