Peaks early on with a performance of Concierto de Aranjuez intercut with boardroom politics but quickly falls into regurgitating a lot of kitchen-sink drama cliches and sentimentality. Characters are situations are all drawn in black-and-white without any nuance. I know the villains are Tories but it does both sides a disservice to have them gloating as they reveal that they're closing down the mine for no reason.

Brilliant touching film, about a true story, and fantastic acting make this a must see.

Finally I have seen this one. Good acting by mainly Postlethwaite and Tompkinson who play father and son. Fun with a young butler from Downton Abbey in Jim Carter. Tara Fitzgerald is the good-looking and educated swan who returns to the village after being an overweight duckling of school age. About mining, youth love and a big music competition.
