Political Elite against the people. Not much has changed around the world today. Excellent movie.

This movie is perfection. Glauber is everywhere, his camera speaks so intimately, either close to the actors' faces or distant, seeing from up above. He rehearses scenes with different angles and moving the actors around the space. Movement is astonishing, the soundtrack made of sad violins and tambores with African lyrics is supreme. How he uses shadows and light is tense, provokes the eye as much as the very film storyline, which criticizes Brazilian society, satirizes politicians and their delicate relationships with higher forces that determine their political decisions; the perspective on Brazilian people, o povo, is disturbing. Poetry is so intense:
Não me causam os crepúsculos
A mesma dor da adolescência
Devolvo, tranquila, à paisagem
Os vômitos da experiência
It rained all the time while I was watching it.

this film is so so good. Glauber Rocha does an allegory of the brazilian dictatorship and the internal contradictions of the bourgeois. In my opinion he is the best brazilian director. I love the way he structure his histories, with a lot of digressions and jumps of times, with an incredible cinematography and editing
