it's good and all but honestly it made my skin crawl

As most of Rohmer's films, Le Genou de Claire is a perfect mix of realism, romance, philosophy, sociology, intelligent dialogues and beautiful landscape, all done in a very unpretentious, down-to-earth way. Gives you so much food for thought about love, trust, commitment, faithfulness and awareness about our own motives and strategies. Great companion to Dangerous Liaisons.

A film about a man flirting with pedophilia and a woman who finds it amusing. But this film wraps it up inside some hoity-toity philosophical pretense and presents it like it’s totally cool. But it’s not cool...it’s creepy.
