I love this film even though I know it's awfully silly, but that's what makes it so great! Plus it does actually have some great dance sequences

I can't get past the song that glorified the abduction of women with the intent of forced marriage on them.

My wife also loves this movie and has seen it more than a dozen times. Is it completely silly? Yeah. But it has some very inventive sequences (the dance competition, the barn raising, the wood cutting scene, etc.)
