I'm an Altman fanboy, so my opinion may be biased: I loved this film. I loved how every detail was so lovingly crafted to elicit a mix of humor and nostalgia. I love how the whole thing is an allegory on growing old. I loved that closer, and how it essentially closed out Altman's career. I loved the musical numbers and how they fit in every scene. I loved it, and anyone who hated it needs to re-evaluate what he looks for in movies. There's so much going on in this movie: how can it be boring?

A delightful, endlessly entertaining film. There's actually quite a lot going on, but as in many Altman films, the main narrative is found in watching how the actors/characters interact with each other.

Well, sir, it has been an uneventful week in Badger Falls...where the women are robust, the men are pink cheeked, and the children are pink-cheeked and robust.
At the Apple Biscuit café, where the smiles are free, don't you know, Sven Inqvist studied the menu, and finally he ordered the same thing he has every day.
