Louise Brooks is great I admit, but the movie itself fails. Mainly because it is overlong.

Louise Brooks is riveting and steals every scene she inhabits. She seems almost contemporary with her slinky, beaded, low-cut gowns and her lack of the typical silent film star makeup.
