I don't know what the hell they're talking about half the time-- but the DV footage looks pretty-- the black&white is sumptuous-- and there's so many platitudes thrown around that some ideas are bound to capture our imagination. Pretty frustrating stuff. Can't help but wonder if Richard Brody and all the others who praise this film just want to seem like the smartest guy in the room. Or maybe I'm the dumbest.

When a film carries the name Godard, there is an expectation it will be complex, profound and of high artistry, just like when one hears "Ferrari" one thinks of a fast sports car.
This Godard is up on blocks, rusting, its interior spoiled by exposure to the weather, and without a transmission. 2.5/10
