The movie that marked the silver age of Hollywood, the one that changed the face of cinema. A film that inspired filmmakers like Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola and Quentin Tarantino.

The first half of this film plays out in a carefree vigorous youthful spirit, not unlike its protagonists. It is not until its final half hour that "Bonnie and Clyde" begins to put words to its message. Clyde Parker's slow-descent into madness and Bonnie Parker's reluctance to leave him despite herself, redeems this film's final half and gives meaning to its first.

I'm surprised at how many negative comments this film has. I found it to be entrancing from the very first beautiful extreme close-ups of Faye Dunaway. With its morally ambiguous story and protagonists and unconventional romance, it is to me one of the most interesting Hollywood films of the 60s. A definite courageous and much needed shift in Hollywood storytelling that deserves its iconic legacy.

PS. But yes, Blanche Barrow has got to be one of the most annoying characters of all time.
