A bit of mixed bag in my opinion. This is a very "acty" movie: the performances are the main attraction here. Tim Robbins blew me away: I had no idea he could be that good. Marcia Gay Harden also turned in a stellar performance. Kevin Bacon and Laurence Fishburne do well with what's given them. As for the star Sean Penn, I just didn't buy his tough guy act. It was too over the top and didn't seem real. I'm probably in the minority in thinking that.

Clint Eastwood once again surprises me with one of his movies, amazing story and performances by the three main actors
