Good movie but fantastic ending.

Too bad the love connection between Laura and Mark was built up so poorly, that would've made this a favorite.

Laura really treats Bessie like dirt. Everytime Bessie has a near heart attack, Laura briefly comforts her, then asks her to make breakfast or get her things.

The Laura/Mark relationship is built up subtly in numerous spoken and unspoken cues, from "dame" through "Change those wet clothes, else you'll catch a cold" into spending long lengths of time in her apartment and beyond.

The film bears several repeat viewings.
