Almost shockingly good, can't believe I've waited this long to catch it.
Great story, exciting and well told, absolutely beautiful, great voice work. In fact, there was nothing wrong or bad about it. Maybe the only thing that one could hold against it is that it's really not a movie for younger children as even the adults are creeped out. :)

Highly recommended!

this film gave a complicated feeling to me. it's like magical, creepy, mysterious, dark, serene. It makes you feel young but you can't really say it's a kid's film. i can't really describe it. i feel weird. just watching the opening of this film gives me goosebumps. it looks innocent but dark at the same time, if you know what i mean.

The animation is stunning! A wonderfully unique, creepy and expressive art style, peppered with subtle, realistic character movements reminiscent of Ghibli's best work. Couple that with great voice work, a haunting musical score, and the irresistible storytelling of Neil Gaiman, and what you have is a true masterpiece. It's like Alice in Wonderland, with the creepiness factor cranked up to the nth degree . . . not really sure who the target audience is though.
