This is a film I'll think about for weeks. I agree that it's 'slow' but I think I'd rather call it "contemplatively paced". It's a film that deals sparingly with religion, yet feels like a religious experience. I know, pretentious, right? Well, it's a flick I'm finding hard to pin down and I feel the need to grasp at the conceptual ether for answers.

I love this film - it totally opened my eyes to what cinema can do. It's got to be one of the best films ever made. It's cheaply made, badly dubbed and utterly bonkers but it's just brilliant. The last scene with Kinski on the raft with his "subjects" would be hard to top for the best end to a film ever.
