Woody Allen's first film is unlike anything you've ever seen, and honestly it's just pure fun. He took a cheesy James Bond knock-off from Japan, re-edited it, dubbed the characters' voices with absolutely hilarious new dialogue, changed the plot to revolve around the high-stakes recovery of the world's greatest egg salad recipe, and spliced in sequences of himself and the Lovin' Spoonful too, for good measure. In short, it's Allen at the height of his wit, still in the midst of his early screwball period and without any of the existential ruminating most people now associate him with, and it's very likely the most consistently laugh-out-loud-funny film he's ever made.

If you enjoy self-aware, well-written, zany comedies like Airplane, Clue, 21 Jump Street, Monty Python, or the early work of Stephen Chow, you're going to love What's Up, Tiger Lily!
