People complaining that the film is "manipulative" completely missed the point. It's not some sterile true-crime A&E special, it's a personal letter to the filmmaker's friend. It's angry and upset and cathartic. It's not an objective film and it never set out to be one. It's opinionated and wants to share with you the emotional turmoil.

What snobs half of you are. your love of your "critiquing" ability has made you lose your humanity.

a guy put his heart and soul in and a good portion of people can't think to put aside the "poor direction". I'll take heart and soul over most empty but well directed movies...many of which litter "best of" lists all over this site
