Typically Cronenbergian body horror. It plays much like a peculiarly Canadian zombie film in which fear is not generated by empty consumerism but unleashed sexual desires. Not as inventive as some of his later stuff but not bad at all.

An excellent feature film debut, and actually a remarkable accomplishment given the budget and acting talent available. Great fun, and it really works - very 70s, and lots of braless women to enjoy.

Paul Hampton is hilarious.

It definitely was interesting, I watched it knowing nothing about it and I was surprised. The plot isn't very complicated, but I didn't expect it to be about zombie sexual assailants.

The movie is definitely cheaper and less refined in comparison to Cronenberg's later films, but it still is pretty good.

A must watch only for Cronenberg fans. I think The Fly, Videodrome, eXistenZ, Naked Lunch, Scanners and Crash are better than this one.
