In the thirteenth century, the region around the city of Berzano was ruled by a legion of Templar Knights, who sought eternal life through the ingestion of human blood. They terrorized the region by harvesting the land and committing human sacrifices. They eventually got imprisoned and executed, left hung out for the crows to peck out their eyes. In modern day Portugal, a group of people visits the abandoned city, which awakens the Templar's corpses, terrorizing the region again.

Slo-mo horsemen scenes are very nice, but rest of it pretty mediocre.

Further to the below comment, another alternate title for this film was "Revenge From Planet Ape", to cash in on the Planet of the Apes series where the distributors added a voiceover at the start claiming that the undead Knights Templar we were about to see were actually a race of apes who used to rule the world.
Anyway, the film is very atmospheric and well shot, but it's often slow and with a very thin plot. The last few minutes are great and unexpected though, which helps make up for that.
