"You did good, pop. You did real good."

80s melodrama ages like a fine...mayonnaise.

I liked it. Gene Hackman was awesome!

Sport films are absolutely the cheesiest and most formulaic genre of them all and the 80s are, as all of you know, arguably the cheesiest decade. And still Hoosiers might be the prime example on how to do it, even when not a single scene about it is surprising. I give most credit to the nostalgic, warm soundtrack; I was lulled already by the opening credits, it downright sounds like male bonding. Add good performances, a reasonable runtime and likable overall stance to make this a classic motivational sport biopic.
Not a really great film, but it made me believe in it. That's how inspiring it is.
