I don't understand the opening scene.

They identified Jin-Tae's body as Jin-Seok? How? I thought they would have to swap identities at some point in the film to save one over the other.

Spent the whole movie waiting for that point to make sense.

It is too melodramatic, but it's also a great war film. I think the battles were impeccable, and it is interesting to see the Korean side of a war that's usually been talked about from an American point of view. I didn't think it was more melodramatic than Saving Private Ryan, by the way, and that's been acknowledged as a masterpiece far too many times.
