fuck anyone who is coming with homophobic comments. also whoever said this would be boring if it were a straight couple.... well it wouldn't be a film because that's not the story. it's about them not being able to express their love because homosexuality is vilified and people get killed for that kind of thing where they live. This is a wonderful film with fully fleshed characters and a real emotional core.

This movie surprised me a lot, I was not expecting for the film to have this story. Once again Heath Ledger showed his talent and Jake Gyllenhaal did the same thing. Could not agree more with @Forrester. I think this movie was robbed of the oscars of Best Motion Picture of the Year and Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role

Really sad and beautiful movie about a forbidden love. Great acting by Ledger and Gyllenhaal and beautiful cinematography and music. It's a pretty slow movie, but I loved every minute of it. Especially the ending was really emotional.
