They had the biggest stars, the largest budget, a renowned director, an epic running time, and nowhere near enough story.

I can't imagine what makes this a classic movie, beyond it having some big stars and being rilly rilly long. By the end, I just felt like this was a story about a bunch of lame characters who couldn't help embarrassing themselves whenever they're in public.

Bloated and unfocused, which is the worst thing a movie of this length can be. James Dean was the best part and he doesn’t even appear on screen for much. Gone with the Wind this ain’t.
