Chaplin is effortless as always but I think the real star is Marie Dressler. She was hilarious and the best scenes were the ones she was heading. They make a surprisingly great duo!

I'm not much of a slapstick farce comedy, but this one was really enjoyable just for Chaplin's performance. He is awesome in characters with negative shade (This, Monsieur Verdoux and the Great dictator)
