A gritty tour-de-force, and surely one of the most disturbing & depressing films I've ever seen. This really makes a man come to grips with his own mortality. Make no mistake about it, this leaves an indelible bleak impression.

A really great adaptation, captures both the essence of the book and the actual occurrences while still being strong solely as a film.
